Eating

I know that some of you out there aren't a fan of the black and white, but it's my blog and I like it so tough! Actually, the white balance was a little out of whack on these since they were taken under some CFL bulbs so instead of toying with them all night I decided to just go the B&W route and be lazy...

Anyways, these images are from Josh's first experience with rice cereal the other day. It's hard to believe that Bubba (a traditional Hildwine nickname that fits a chubby little boy well) is five months old already and eating-or at least trying to. He was content to take the spoon and then promptly drool its contents all over the place. Jill and I were expecting him to perform slightly better as he watches so intently while we eat. If I remember correctly it went about the same with Emma, so no cause for alarm. I'm sure in no time he will be eating like a pro and not allowing a drop to roll out of his mouth.

The Helmet

For those of you who haven't read the saga of the helmet on Jill's blog, here's the quick backstory. Josh has a bit of a flat spot on the back of his head. We've been watching it for quite a while. It has improved slightly, but not quite as much as the doctor would have hoped so we were referred to get him fitted for a band. And tada-a bunch of money later, here it is. We got it on Thursday afternoon and these pictures were taken shortly thereafter. Josh has worn it like a champ. He was a little unhappy laying on it at first, but he got over that within a day. We've also had a bit of a struggle with some heat rash issues, but after a re-fit today hopefully those will be taken care of. We're still tossing around what we want to decorate it with, but rest assured that you will all be updated as soon as it happens.

My Toy

It's no secret to those who know me that I've always been a fan of shooting. So in an attempt to diversify my blog, here's a picture of my latest acquisition. I got hooked on longer range shooting last year and bought a .308 that is beautiful at reaching out there, but at about a buck a round it gets pretty expensive to shoot. I was always noticing how cheap .223 was when shopping for ammo, so I started begging (yes, Jill will attest that I begged) for this gun. I ordered it the day after Christmas, waited more than three months for it, and then celebrated like crazy when I got the call that it was in. It's a blast to shoot, especially since it's my only true left-handed gun. Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled blog...

Kristina & Ray-July 5th, 2009

These are a few images from Kristina and Ray's wedding on Sunday. I've just begin to sort through the images, but these were some of the ones that I knew the second I took them were going to look great. I couldn't wait to share a few, especially the second frame in the group. That one grabbed me as soon as I looked at the screen on the camera. It was a beautiful evening and I was so happy to share it with them.

Hell Hath Frozen

My wife who claimed to never want to blog has turned to the dark side and started one. If you want her take on the world, you can check it out here. She didn't go with my suggestion to name it "The Hater Dialogues," but I won't hold that against her.
