Teething

This picture pretty much sums up our weekend with Emma. She's cutting her two year molars right now and she's not very happy about it. This picture is from Saturday when she was pretty inconsolable. You know it's pretty bad when your kid's walking around the house asking "medicine? medicine?" Thank God for Barney, Teletubbies and DVRs or we might not have made it.

Sunday Night-B&W Style

We spent the evening with three other couples and their kids tonight. There were cute kids running around everywhere, so I couldn't help but take a few pictures. The lighting was low and the colors were a little muted, but the images worked great in black and white. Here's a few of my favorites.

Film Images

Here's a couple of frames from the first roll I ran through my new camera. It's amazing how different of a look film can give you. It's fun to get back to the good old days of loading a roll of film into a camera. It's a whole different style of shooting, especially since you can't just hold down the shutter and rip away like with digital. You really have to time your shots and make every one count.

Emma & Mommy

I wanted to take a few test shots on my new film camera this afternoon and I figured I would try some side by sides with the digital out of curiosity. Emma was not in the mood to have her picture taken today so I didn't really have enough time to switch between the two cameras. We finally did manage to coax her into Jill's lap and I happened to have the digital in my hands at the time. Here's the one out of 15 or so I took where Emma was actually looking at the camera. Aren't they cute???

Chinese Food

Tonight we tried out a new little Chinese restaurant that one of my employees recommended. The ladies working in there loved Emma and I think she felt the same about them. Our server even brought Emma her own bowl of soup so she could eat with us. After vigorously stirring half of the soup out of the bowl she finally decided to take a couple of bites. I think she's found a new favorite place to eat.

Monsoon

I was hoping to get outside to get some lightning pictures this evening, but Jill decided she wanted to go out to dinner. By the time we got home, the lightning had mostly passed and the rain had moved in. I tried in vain to catch some lightning, but since I had to keep the camera from getting soaked, my framing options were limited. This is a 30 second exposure taken right outside our front door. Maybe next time I'll catch the lightning...

Here's a few images from this afternoon of Emma and her mommy playing in the front room.

More Pool Fun

There's a community pool in our neighborhood that Jill and I always seem to forget about. We finally took a trip down there on Monday and Emma had a good time. She enjoyed walking around the edge of the pool counting the tiles and stepping on them. Pretty soon she'll be jumping in the pool on her own...
